Flannel nightgown sleepwear to cuddle up in

Flannel nightgown sleepwear to cuddle up in

I’m a New Yorker through and through. I’m a true Northerner used to freezing cold winters, snowy White Christmases and 20 below weather. Once the month of November rolled around in the Big Apple, I’d find myself sipping cocoa next to the radiator wearing my toastiest of nightgowns. Then I moved to Florida. Now when November rolls around I find myself drinking frozen margaritas next to the pool wearing my comfiest of flip flops. It may be hot down here, but I’m not giving up my comfy, cozy winter sleepwear traditions. I’m wearing my flannel nightgown from NorthStyle Catalog this winter if it kills me. I may just need to crank up the AC.

This Smocked Flannel Nightgown from NorthStyle sure brings back fond Christmas memories. The egg nog, the caroling, I can almost smell the chestnuts roasting on an open fire. It’s exactly the kind of nightgown I’d wear back in my days in old New York while waiting up for Santa. With a classic, rounded collar and button smock top it even comes in a festive colored print, filling me with even more Christmas spirit.

And me in my flannel,
And Papa in his cap
Had just settled down for a long winter’s nap.

DID YOU KNOW? In the UK the word flannel has various meanings, none pertaining to articles of clothing. The term is often used to describe a washcloth and is also synonymous with the word humbug. Thankfully Charles Dickens chose “Bah humbug” as Ebeneezer Scrooge’s token phrase in the holiday classic “A Christmas Carol”. “Bah flannel” didn’t really have the same ring to it.
