Easy to make kids craft projects
Most kids—regardless of age, enjoy working with their hands to create something that is uniquely theirs. This article will outline several kids craft projects that will delight any young creative mind and will fill many otherwise empty hours with fun.
Indian Headband
Materials needed: • Construction Paper, various colors • Clear Tape or Stapler • Glue or Paste • Scissors
Directions:
Cut brown construction paper into long strips, about 1 inch wide. Put strips around your child’s head, and staple or tape the ends together to fit snugly. Then, using various colors of construction paper, cut out “feathers” in different shapes and sizes. Glue the feathers to the headband. With your help, even the very young can participate in this activity.
Mouse Ears Headband
Materials Needed: • Construction Paper • Crayons or Markers • Stapler or Tape
Instructions:
Using construction paper, cut out a strip of paper about 2 inches thick and long enough to wrap around your fore head (make sure you make it an inch or two longer so you can staple the ends together.) Next, fold a piece of paper in half and cut out a set of circles. A helpful idea is to find a large cup to trace around! Cut out another smaller set of circles in pink and glue them inside the larger circles. Put the bottom edge of each ear up against the strip of paper and staple or tape them in place. Once the ears are attached, staple or tape the ends of the strip together to snuggly fit around the child’s forehead. ~Alligator Clip-On –one of the great kids craft projects for those who are elementary school age.

Spring-Type Clothespin Green Paint Tri-Cornered Beads Tacky Glue or Hot Glue Gun Wiggle Eyes Instructions:
1. Paint a clothespin green. Let the paint dry. Glue tri-cornered beads down the back of the clothespin.
2. Glue on the wiggle eyes. You can also paint pointed teeth on your alligator if you like Another option is to use small pieces of pipe cleaner and glue on arms and legs!
If you’re looking for something to entertain the pre-school and kindergarten set, here a two great kids craft projects:
1. Alphabet Book – a wonderful way to help learn the ABC’s. Materials Needed: • Paper—26 pages • Stapler • Crayons or Markers • Magazines • Glue
Instructions:
This project can be as hard or as simple as you want it! The idea is to help your child create his/her own alphabet book. Each page should feature a different letter of the alphabet.
First, write a different letter on each page of paper After all pages have letters, look through magazines and find pictures of objects that start with that letter. Let your child help you. Cut out the pictures and glue them onto the correct pages. Label each picture, which will help your child remember the alphabet (A is for APPLE, etc). You could even write a little story for each letter.
Once all glue has dried on your pages, you can put the pages of the book in the proper order and staple it together. Don’t forget to make a cover and even a credits page!
2. Alphabet Noodle Bracelet – a unique bracelet using alphabet noodles, cardboard, and yarn. This is just one of many kids crafts that will enthrall (and teach) youngsters.
Materials • Lightweight Cardboard (like from a cereal box) • Alphabet Shape Noodles, uncooked • Glue • Hole Puncher • Yarn
Instructions:
Cut out a piece of cardboard about 1/2-inch wide and just long enough to fit around your wrist. Punch a whole in each end. Spell out your name or fun words using the alphabet noodles. Center your word on the cardboard strip and glue them in place. Let the glue dry. Now the bracelet can be painted. Use a couple thin coats of acrylic paint or spray paint. If you use acrylic paint, also use an acrylic spray sealer. Let the paint seal/ dry completely.
