The First Date. Where to go and what to wear are the first things that pop in mind, right?!
Well it’s because one thing leads to another. It’s true that one has to dress a part for the occasion but always keeping in mind where the date is taking place.
Women might be a little more nervous on what to wear. Guys, on the other hand, often don’t make a big effort getting together the “perfect” outfit. But some of them could use some help and below you’ll find great tips to be as well dressed as you can be, keeping the date place in mind.
Here, a guide of what a guy should wear to a first date. Remember that flip flops are always going to be a big NO (unless you’re at the beach…) and that all garments look better tailored to your body type. Every man could use a few fashion tips and tricks right?
10. Ball game
An afternoon or night ball game is a fun and casual first date,and that’s why jeans and a no-sign t-shirt (sorry guys no Ed Hardy!) or a polo shirt are a perfect option. Don’t forget about the shoes, cool trendy sneakers or loafers.
9. Movie Theater
It’s probably going to be at night and most probably you’ll go for a bite to eat or drinks after. Jeans or casual pants with a casual dressy shirt are going to work just fine. But don’t be afraid of showing off your own personal style! So blazers and modern cool looking sneakers are okay as well.
8. Day in the park or picnic
Of course it’s acceptable for you to be comfortable, and short cargo pants with a sexy white v neck t-shirt and low modern sneakers are a great choice. You can also go for shorts and a polo shirt for a classic preppy style.
7. Coffee
This is almost always an after work date, so make sure you go to work dressing nicely that day, if you are allowed to wear jeans to work, don’t wear them that day; khaki pants or dress pants with a sweater over a shirt or just the shirt and a casual sports jacket look very nice. If you are not up for the dress pants at least wear black jeans.
6. Visiting a state fair or public area in the city
Keep it casual but make her feel like you are dressing a little nicer just for her even if you are not. Dark denim jeans, white t-shirt and a blazer are the look to go for here.

Loafers or low modern sneakers are a must. Finish the outfit with casual cargo pants, and light cotton shirt. Try to keep away from the classic jeans and band t-shirt, surprise her with a modern but well put together look, starting with a really cool trendy woven shirt.
4. Night Club
This is already an unconventional first date, so if this is what you have decided to go for make sure to take your date to the trendiest and nicest club in the city. Suit it up but make sure you give it a modern and young twist with a skinny tie!
3. Somewhere different or exotic
This is were you get to wear whatever you think is right. Just a few tips of advice. Remember a first date is all about the first impression; try to keep it a nice, simple and handsome look. Doesn’t matter where you are going no flip flops, no designs on t-shirts, no old looking (bad condition) shoes or sneakers.
2. Opera
First and foremost if you choose the opera you already have ten points ahead of you. Make it 20 wearing a neatly pressed and clean black tie tuxedo jacket. A timeless white shirt and classic tie go perfect!
1. High End Restaurant
A nice casual (any color) tailored suit, a top-of-the-game shirt, open neck, no tie … trust me when I say perfection.
