A weekend camping in the woods, tailgating at a football game, or swimming at the beach can easily be ruined by forgetting to bring a beer opener.
But resourceful and desperate beer aficionados devised dozens of alternate ways to open a bottle.
Here are my top ten ways to open a beer without an opener:
10. Wedding Ring
A wedding band is not only a symbol of commitment and fidelity, it can also be a tool to open a beer in a pinch. Of course, a traditional opener is best, but who says jewelry can’t be functional?
9. Belt Buckle
For those unmarried types, a sturdy belt buckle that you can slip over the bottle cap is your next best option. Remember to pry the cap off instead of jerking it, which can break the bottle.
8. Picture Frame
Are there picture frames or a wall clock in easy reach? Thicker frames that afford more leverage usually work best. Again, put the lip of the frame below cap and carefully pry it off.

Flip a second beer upside down and use the cap to peel the cap of the first beer off.

Don’t ever use your teeth to open a bottle, but using your toothbrush can be fruitful endeavor. Make sure you’re opening the bottle with the corner of the handle, positioned right under the cap.
1. Cell Phone
If you have any scruples about damaging your pricey cell phone to remove the cap of a not-so-pricey beer, keep in mind that your friends also have cell phones. They will probably let you borrow one if you don’t spill the beans or your beer in the process.
