uldn’t be any shame in asking for help when it comes to romance, especially when your intentions are good. There are many ways of expressing love. And if you aren’t good with romantic gestures, here are some easy ways you can impress your partner this Valentine’s Day.

Plan Well in Advance

Let’s get one thing out of the way – the absolute worst thing you can do is wait until there are only one or two days until Valentine’s Day to plan your date. At that point, you’ll probably just start panicking and start frantically trying to throw something together. What’s worse is that you’ll inevitably find out that all the good gifts are already sold and all the romantic places are already booked.

Valentine’s Day is pretty busy, and the good restaurants require you to make reservations pretty early, sometimes a month in advance, to ensure that you get a table. Instead, give yourself ample time before Valentine’s Day to ensure that you can plan things down to the small details. This is what makes the difference between a pretty good date and a super-date that will melt your partner’s heart.

You also want to buy gifts and do any other shopping at least a week ahead. You don’t want to get stuck in the holiday rush now, do you? Having planned things in advance will save you a lot of stress on the actual Day.

Little Things Go A Long Way

As mentioned before, it’s the little things that make all the difference. Small efforts go a long way when it comes to romance. It would take you an hour or two to get a card or write a long and personalized love letter. However, this may end up being something that your partner would love and cherish forever.

You can add a little more effort and create something even more meaningful. For instance, you can print out some of your most memorable pictures (or the most embarrassing ones; the choice is yours) into Polaroids and create a vintage-looking collage for them. You can make them a personalized playlist of your favorite songs, create small gift baskets with items you know they love, get them their favorite chocolate. The options are endless.

All you need to do is think a little and come up with something that feels like it is created especially for your significant other. These gifts will always be more special than the generic gifts you can buy at the stores.

Send a Card and Flowers Before Valentine’s Day

Sure, you have been together for so long, and it’s pretty obvious that you’d be going out on Valentine’s Day. However, sending a message in advance saying, “Can’t wait to see you tonight,” can show your partner how thoughtful you are and bring a huge smile to their face.

To makes things even more romantic, you can send them a card to ask them to be your Valentine. You can get a digital card online and email, text, tweet, or Facebook message it to them. Or better yet, send them a physical card – both store-bought or handmade would work. After the date, this card could remain as a memento for the amazing evening you two spent together. And of course, don’t forget to accompany the card with some flowers or chocolates.

You know your partner better – send something accordingly.

Dining In vs. Dining Out

This is the huge decision you have to make, as both the options have their pros and cons.

A fancy restaurant will cost you quite a bit and will require you to make reservations in advance. However, the atmosphere and food quality of such restaurants is truly incredible and worth every penny you spend.

On the other hand, preparing a romantic dinner at home is much more personal and gives you some creative freedom with how you want to go about things. However, it could quickly turn into a disaster if you don’t know your way around the kitchen or aren’t good at managing household duties. Ultimately, this choice depends on you and your partner and what you think the two of you would enjoy most.

However, considering the current situation of the world and the fact that the coronavirus still isn’t fully in control, it is better to dine in at home than to dine out. If you choose to dine out, check whether the restaurant is handling its safety protocols properly to flatten the curve. If not, look for another restaurant.

Dress Up

Whether you’re a couple who’s recently gotten together or have five kids together or whether you’re preparing a home-cooked meal or going to a fancy restaurant – dressing up is very important. Being presentable and dressing to impress is one of the easiest yet most crucial ways of showing your partner that you are willing to go the extra mile to look the best for them.

This shows that you care about your partner’s feelings and desires. This would consequently result in them trying to look the best for you as well. And don’t forget, looking good will naturally help you two feel more attracted to each other.

Remember that you don’t need to show grand romantic gestures or take them to Paris for a romantic evening. Just some advanced planning and a little attention to detail can help you go a long way to woo your partner all over again.
